You will need the BMW - Map DVD - High Version. Latest version is 2009.1
For North American use, the latest version is Release Date September 2008 NAVTEQ Part number # U0001-0070-808 BMW Part number 65 90 2 147 669

Please note there are multiple versions of maps from BMW. You will need the HIGH version and NOT the Professional, DVD-CCC / MOST BUS or CIC / HU DVD
Unit will also work with older CD based Maps
All the part numbers for North American maps are below: Other regions such as Europe and Asia require the HIGH maps as well

Units are refreshed including latest V32 Firmware and are working perfectly. Item does not include DVD map.
Your current CD map from 2001 or newer will work fine or you can get the latest map from www.navteq.com by asking for the latest DVD map for a 2006 model year X5.

ATTENTION RANGE ROVER OWNERS! The Range Rover DVD map is NOT the same as the BMW DVD Map. When ordering a new map from navteq or the BMW dealer, make sure you get the BMW DVD map and not the Range Rover DVD map.
